Apple Corps, Ltd., MTV Games and Harmonix announced Monday that Abbey Road” will become the first full Beatles album to be playable on "The Beatles: Rock Band" game (also available at Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.ca in Canada) when the rest of the album tracks not already on the game disc become available digitally this week.
The downloadable album tracks will be available for Microsoft Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii on Oct. 20 and Sony Playstation 3 on Oct. 22 through The Beatles™: Rock Band™ Music Store.
On Xbox 360, the “Complete the Album Pack” features the single tracks “Maxwell's Silver Hammer,” “Oh! Darling,” and “Because” and the complete Abbey Road 16 minute medley with “You Never Give Me Your Money,” “Sun King,” “Mean Mr. Mustard,” “Polythene Pam,” “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window,” “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight” and “The End.” The price is $16.99 USD, £10.46 UK, €11.37 EU (1360 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360).
Additionally, the following songs from the album can also be played as 1-to-3-song sets: “You Never Give Me Your Money”; “Sun King”/ “Mean Mr. Mustard”; “Polythene Pam”/ “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window” and “Golden Slumbers”/ “Carry That Weight”/ “The End”; “Her Majesty.”
Individual Abbey Road single tracks “Maxwell's Silver Hammer,” “Oh! Darling,” and “Because” will be priced at $1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) each.
“Come Together,” “Something,” “Octopus’s Garden,” “I Want You (She’s So Heavy),” “Here Comes The Sun” and “The End” were already included on “The Beatles: Rock Band” game disc.
On the Wii, individual tracks “Maxwell's Silver Hammer, ” “Oh! Darling,” “Because,” and “You Never Give Me Your Money,” will be $2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per each individual track, with *$1.00 USD (100 Wii Points) for “Her Majesty.” Multi-track sets available for $3.50 USD per pair or (350 Wii Points) are “Sun King”/ “Mean Mr. Mustard”, “Polythene Pam”/ “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window” and “Golden Slumbers”/ “Carry That Weight”/ “The End.” (There is no additional cost for “The End” since it is already included on game disc.)
The downloadable content can be purchased on the Xbox®LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360, PlayStation®Network for Playstation 3 and through the in-game The Beatles: Rock Band Music Store for Wii™ using Wii points purchased through the Wii Shop Channel.
The Playstation 3 pricing and track buying options were not announced.
Harmonix previously announced that two other Beatles albums, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” (November) and “Rubber Soul” (December) would also be available this year.
