Hello my Friends,

Did you have a great summer? I hope so!

I wanted to send you a little somethin' from my vacation here in Hawaii. I am enjoying day 2 of 11 days here, first on the island of Maui, then on Oahu.. My cousin, Rich has a place there and I have a few friends working there as well.

I'm still one of the 4 luckiest guys on the planet, to play with Paul...

that's for sure..

I wanted to send this postcard to you and thank you for your email and support. I'll have some news to tell you around the middle of October that is really exciting to me.

Hello my Friends,

I'm hanging out here on a rainy morning in L.A. and I wanted to take a moment to say hello and tell you all a bit of news.

As some of you know, I have been writing songs my whole life, ever since I started playing guitar. After writing for Etta James, Smokey Robinson, The Bangles and others, I've really enjoyed just being a guitar player again, playing with Paul. As we have learned more about our upcoming schedule, I saw a large window of time opening up. I thought.. what do I want to do with it? Maybe build a house? Take up sky diving? Climb Mt. Everest? Naa, too much work.

I had not planned on writing, but because of new inspiration and your various questions in interviews, I've done just that.

I am currently working on a new group of songs and recordings which I plan to release in the early part of the new year. It will be an EP, with six songs on it. I'll have it available on my website, then elsewhere as soon as it's finished. I've done four tracks so far and am really thrilled with how it's coming together. Will you be there to listen?

I have all of you to thank for the inspiration! It wasn't really in my plan... so, I thank each of you.

Oh, about our tour news...

Plans change all the time as you know.. But I can tell you that we are not touring this spring, and the rumours about other big events are just that.

"Brian is busy working in the studio on his new CD on Who Ray! Records.

Tracks have been recorded with Davey Faragher on bass from Elvis Costello's band and L.A. drummer, Matt Laug. Also Brian is recording at Ollywood Studios with Oliver Leiber adding some drums. Abe, from Paul's band will be writing and playing with Brian on a song which will also feature Scott Shriner, of Weezer on bass.

Some surprises to come, guests to be announced later. Watch this space."

Hello friends, near and far....
I'm basking in the afterglow of an amazing day in the studio. Yesterday
at Eldorado studios in Burbank, I recorded 2 new tracks for my new CD.
With Abe Laboriel and Scott Shriner, from Weezer we cut a new one which
I wrote with Abe on Monday called, "Night is Callin'" and a ballad I
wrote about a week ago called, "Now I Know". The day was fun and fast
and we laughed our asses off all day. "Night" is a fairly ferocious
rocker, with Abe
exorcising some demons on his vintage Ludwig/Leedy drumkit, and Scott
punishing his 1960 Fender bass through an old '70s Ampeg SVT..[details
for those who care!]. I played my old '57 Goldtop LP through a '59
Fender Bassman and '58 Gibson GA40 amps..It sounded a bit
angry[!]...On the ballad I used a 1955 LP Junior which I bought [with
Abe] in Lyon, France in 1998.. The sound engineer, Joe Zook is so
talented, his sounds are... amazing.
Man.. these are the days!
