Tom_Petty_Live says: I've gotten to the point where I thrive on that pace and don't know what to do if it stops. Every minute is pretty much planned.
bestpetdreams in Onstage1 asks: When you tour, how do you keep your energy up - what makes you so in tune with your audience (after seeing you everytime you've been in New England since 1980)
Tom_Petty_Live says: Well I love to play music, so that's the two hours of the day that is really the most fun. The audience itself keeps me going, on the shows I rely on the audience to be part of the show. And the more they give, the more they're going to get.
DishDiva says: From TomPetty.com Do you intend to use some of the video footage that Dana has been taking in some kind of documentary or is it strictly for your own personal use? I'm 1 of the bumbling idiots on 1 of the tapes from your Manchester, NH visit back in July.
DishDiva says: from --Love ya Tom!! deegrover
Tom_Petty_Live says: We do plan to use some of it because it started out just as home movies for our enjoyment and she's gotten such fantastic footage, especially of sound checks where we're playing things that aren't in the show, so I'd love to put some one DVD. Right nowTom_Petty_Live says: though we have so many tapes to go through to find those best bits.

Do you write the lyrics first or the music? Please take us on a walk through your typical songwriting process.
Tom_Petty_Live says: Actually I don't have a typical process. It's such a mysterious thing, I don't really know how it works to this day. I've written lyrics first and I've written them last, and sometimes the lyrics and music come at the same time. I've worked on a song for
