Beatles fans say Eleanor Rigby statue is lonely
Beatles fans in Liverpool want a statue of Eleanor Rigby moved because it's not getting enough visitors.
The Liverpool Beatles Appreciation Society wants the statue moved to a more popular location.
Many people believe the name was taken from a churchyard where John Lennon went to Sunday school.
The bronze statue is designed to give people a place to sit and keep Eleanor Rigby company.
The society says while locals still lay flowers in her lap, Beatles fans from around the world are missing the sculpture.
It's currently on Stanley Street. The group want it moved to Mathew Street or inside the Cavern Walks.
Society founder member John James-Chambers said: "We want the statue to be moved to give it a higher profile. With all the tourists coming in for the Mathew Street Festival it makes sense to move it."
The proposal is one of a number planned by the society to mark its 25th anniversary. They want a tribute statue to Brian Epstein in Cavern Walks, a new street named after the Beatles manager and to give him the posthumous Freedom of the City.
The Daily Post says members also want streets to be named after former Beatles Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best.
The bronze statue was created by sculptor Tommy Steele in 1982.
