Wu-Tang Clan covering the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" ... with George Harrison's son Dhani ... and Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante playing along? That's the news the RZA spilled to RollingStone.com late last week, saying the collabo for the ages will surface on the Clan's November 13 album, 8 Diagrams. The track will sample the original George Harrison-written song, with the group rapping over the track, Frusciante wailing on lead guitar and Dhani Harrison playing acoustic.

Due November 13th, the Clan’s upcoming fifth album, 8 Diagrams, has a track RZA is currently calling “Gently Weeps.” It features a sample of the Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” which is cool enough. But what’s even cooler is the fact that Wu-Tang’s cover of the song features Red Hot Chili Pepper John Frusciante on lead guitar and Dhani Harrison, George Harrison’s twenty-nine-year-old son, on acoustic. “He’s the biggest Wu-Tang fan in the world,” RZA says of Harrison, whom RZA called in for the session. “He knew all the kung fu shit [we reference]! That’s deep! I told him I would be honored if he played his father’s song.” The Wu song, which RZA says is about the destructive power of heroin, features Wu-Tang rapping over the band’s cover of the Beatles track. Method Man plays a smack addict, while Ghostface Killah plays a dope dealer and, in RZA’s words, lays down “one of the best lyrics I’ve ever heard him say.”

The statement that we made yesterday was incorrect and we apologize for any confusion it may have caused. We DID NOT sample the Beatles, i repeat, we DID NOT sample the Beatles, rather we did an INTERPOLATION of the classic George Harrison composition 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps.' In a historic collaboration, Dhani Harrison, son of George, through his friendship with the RZA, played guitar on the song and he himself helped secure the REUSE LICENSE. Also appearing on the song are John Frusciante, guitar player for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Erykah Badu singing the chorus. To satisfy everyone's curiosity, the song will be streamed exclusively on loud.com tonight. It will be the first single and video from the forthcoming album '8 Diagrams' in stores December 4.

RZA: 'RAPPERS COULD LEARN FROM HARRISON'S SON'

WU-TANG CLAN star RZA has urged his mercenary hip-hop peers to follow the example set by GEORGE HARRISON's son DHANI - and give up their entourages and greedy ways.
The rapper was amazed when Harrison turned up alone at his studio to work on a new collaboration, after having paid for his own airfare, and insists his own bandmates could learn a lot from such humble musicians.
RZA, real name Robert Diggs, admits the recording process with young Harrison on a new song, The Heart Gently Weeps, inspired by his father's classic While My Guitar Gently Weeps was a delight - with none of the drama he's accustomed to when working with his fellow rappers.
RZA says, "Dhani paid for his own ticket from London, put himself in a hotel and stayed two days in the middle of doing his own project.
"Dhani is super-professional. Sometimes, to get (bandmates) Ghostface (Killah) or U-God in the studio, I've got to send a car for them - sometimes I have to send them money!" The Wu-Tang Clan frontman believes the hip-hop world could learn from Harrison by concentrating on music instead of money.
He adds, "I try to explain that to the hip-hop people, because sometimes we all stuck on this money s**t, but if you do music first, money is going to come." The new Harrison/RZA collaboration can be heard on the new Wu-Tang Clan album 8 Diagrams, which also features guest spots from the Red Hot Chili Peppers' John Frusciante and Erykah Badu.
