Начнем с вот этого письма Пола.
“If anyone wants to save the planet, all they have to do is just stop eating meat. That’s the single most important thing you could do. It’s staggering when you think about it. Vegetarianism takes care of so many things in one shot: ecology, famine, cruelty.”
—Sir Paul McCartney
Be kind to animals
Says Sir Paul, “We can't go on cramming creatures into battery cages, broiler sheds, turkey sheds and so on. Where's the compassion?... It’s a real chicken with a face and a heart… When I see bacon, I see a pig, I see a little friend, and that’s why I can’t eat it. Simple as that.”

Says Sir Paul, “there's now a whole heap of science to show that vegetarians and vegans are healthier and live longer.” People who consume animal products are far more susceptible to heart disease, 40 percent more susceptible to cancer, and at increased risk for many other illnesses, including stroke, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, impotence, and food poisoning.
Similarly, we have an obesity epidemic in North America, and the solution is as close as our kitchen: Vegetarians like Paul are one-third as likely to be obese as meat-eaters, and vegans are about one-tenth as likely to be obese.
Save the Planet
Says Sir Paul, “There's so many animals, there's not enough land any more and everything's swamped with pesticides and fertilizers... It's destroying just about everything - topsoil, wildlife, water, birds. If everyone went veggie we'd need only about half the amount of land and we could have real forests and wild places again…. Animals use up huge amounts of water and there are billions of them.”
Feed the Hungry
Says Sir Paul, “You can feed ten times the number of people on the food they give to animals… If you can feed ten times the number of people by not passing food through animals first and then killing them. That's got to make people think… It’s sucking in the world's supplies of grain and soya which are needed for people. It's costing lives. That's why we've got to get our message out there.”
