Нет. Winnie Haarhuis
Winnie Haarhuis was inspired by the Beatles to play guitar already on the age of 14. After several years of playing guitar and singing in a rock band, the drummer left and she decided to pick up the sticks herself. Besides drumming in Love & Mersey she's also singer / songwriter and accompanies herself on guitar. In 2008 and in 2009 she was selected for the Popronde (Popround) and was support act of Dutch pride and well known band Racoon. In 2010 she was selected for the quarterfinals of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands.
Winnie and The Beatles
Borne: January 19th, 1980, Vlissingen
Lives in: Middelburg
Beatles fan since: 1989
First heard the Beatles: My mother had a pair of albums that she regularly played. But when I got a walkman and Beatles music on cassettes Beatlemania hit really. This feeling was reinforced by a friend at school who also turned out to be Beatlefan. From then on we made our scrapbooks together.
Fave Beatles album: Rubber Soul
Fave Beatles song: Get Back
Worst of the Beatles: Ehmmm, perhaps the hysterical screams of fans that made so many concerts absolutely unlistenable?
Fave Beatle: Paul McCartney, but I'm also a very big Lennon-fan
Fave solo album: "Double Fantasy" (Lennon) and "Tug of War" (McCartney)
Fave solo song: "Heart of the Country" by McCartney and "Working Class Hero" by John Lennon
Fave images (video or TV moment): The movie "A Hard Days Night" from the beginning until the end.
Proud of (Beatles-collectors item): Original buttons, of course, all music on vinyl, the book "The Real Beatles Story," written by Alan Williams, their first manager (I used to literally read to pieces) and my beatles guitar book out from which I learned the first chords on guitar (I still sometimes use it).
Unforgettable moment: When I heard the album "A Hard Days Night" for the first time I was in love with "And I love her", the concert of Paul McCartney in 1994 in Ahoy (Rotterdam), the euphoric moment that I, looking at a picture of Magical Mystery Tour on which John Lennon was holding a beautiful acoustic guitar, decided that I was going to buy a guitar.
Other favorite music: Crosby, Stills & Nash, Simon & Garfunkel, James Brown, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Chuck Berry, Ry Cooder, The Velvet Underground, Steve Miller, Moby Grape, Toots and the Maytals, Buffalo Springfield, etcetera. And lately I discover great new music like Belle and Sebastian, Sufjan Stevens and Willy Mason.
