А Пол почему-то пока молчит...
Мне тоже непонятно, почему молчит Пол. Ни на сайте, ни в инсте, ни в твиттере ничего нет. Все остальные уже высказались:
Little Richard was 'the biggest inspiration of my early teens' and his music still has 'the same raw electric energy when you play it now as when it first shot through the music scene in the mid 50s', Mick Jagger
Sir Elton hailed Little Richard as 'without doubt… my biggest influence', adding: 'Seeing him live in my teens was the most exciting event in my life at that point.'
Paying tribute to the singer, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page said that his songs 'pioneered Rock 'n' Roll'.
Нашлось только вот что:
On Saturday, Beatles drummer Sir Ringo Starr described Little Richard as one of his 'all-time musical heroes'.
Sir Paul McCartney added: ‘ Without Little Richard there would have been no Beatles. When I heard his songs on the radio they were like nothing that had come before. He inspired all of us who followed’.
When Little Richard played the Star-Club in Hamburg in the early Sixties, the opening act was none other than the Beatles. “We used to stand backstage at Hamburg’s Star-Club and watch Little Richard play,” John Lennon said later. “He used to read from the Bible backstage and just to hear him talk we’d sit around and listen. I still love him and he’s one of the greatest.”
«Я научил Пола всему, что он знает»
From 'Tutti Frutti' to 'Long Tall Sally' to 'Good Golly, Miss Molly' to 'Lucille', Little Richard came screaming into my life when I was a teenager. I owe a lot of what I do to Little Richard and his style; and he knew it. He would say, 'I taught Paul everything he knows'. I had to admit he was right. In the early days of The Beatles we played with Richard in Hamburg and got to know him. He would let us hang out in his dressing room and we were witness to his pre-show rituals, with his head under a towel over a bowl of steaming hot water he would suddenly lift his head up to the mirror and say, 'I can’t help it cos I’m so beautiful'. And he was. A great man with a lovely sense of humour and someone who will be missed by the rock and roll community and many more. I thank him for all he taught me and the kindness he showed by letting me be his friend. Goodbye Richard and a-wop-bop-a-loo-bop.' - Paul McCartney
