Да, восьмой unbootlegged настолько хорош, что даже и не верится - две ранее не выходившие (?) битловские демки, конечно Helter Skelter (ну не дай бог снова fake - поубиваю! ;)), долгожданные ауттейки из Speed of Sound... Просто конфетка, а не диск!
Ну и конечно, как всегда радуюсь появлению очередных выпусков моего любимого Day by Day.

For those of you who have studied the CD releases of the individual solo
releases of John, Paul, George and Ringo, you know that the CD transfers
are, for the most part, faithful transfers of their vinyl counterparts,
with one glaring exception: THE RILLS!

Yes, those gaps of silence between songs, memorized and loved by Beatles
fans worldwide, have been categorically ignored, remixed and shamelessly
edited (or extended) by various record labels for the CD releases. And so,
the CD experience can be quite painful for we devoted fans; after decades
of knowing that we only have to wait three seconds between "Beware My Love"
and "Wino Junko," along comes the DCC gold CD of "Speed of Sound," and the
next thing we know, we're waiting *four* seconds. The biggest travesty
since Apple's decision not to release "Something New" on CD!

To that end comes this much-awaited disc from Choking Smoker
Records. Every rill from every pre-CD vinyl solo release has been
carefully transferred from pristine vinyl, and digitally cleaned up by the
hard-working Choking Smoker Elves. Please bear in mind that there is no
actual music on this CD; simply the comfortingly familiar gaps between the
music.

Now every fan has a chance to take matters into his or her own hands; by
transferring the music from your CD copy of "Extra Texture," then digitally
inserting Choking Smoker's carefully extracted "Extra Texture rills"
(tracks 19-20), you can then re-burn a CD that has the correct rill
spacing, and relive the thrill of the vinyl era, exactly the way you
remember it. It's the way George wanted you to hear the album; don't let
new-fangled "technology" ruin your listening experience.

And as a SPECIAL BONUS TRACK! Track 30 is a special hidden bonus track, of
a previously undocumented acetate that has been in select collector's hands
for several years now. Choking Smoker proudly presents a perfect-quality
digital transfer of the famous "Two Minutes Silence" acetate. As we all
know, the version of "Two Minutes Silence" that appeared on "Life With the
Lions" was a remake done in March 1969. The acetate on our collection is
the original TAKE ONE from the famous "George has left and so we have
nothing to say" days at Twickenham. John and Yoko later scrapped this
version when they realized that you could hear Michael Lindsay-Hogg at
1:58, thus spoiling the "Two Minutes Silence" concept. But now that hidden
gem of John Lennon's history can be heard at last, thanks to your friends
at Choking Smoker.
