THE ROLLING STONES are expected to start their 2002 world tour in USA in September. While we expected an arena tour like No Security 1999 in USA, the 2002 world tour will most probably be the biggest and most exciting tour in the 40 years of the Stones playing live. The greatest rock'n'roll band in the world will take their tour to many cities in USA, before going to Europe, South America and Asia, taking them to more than 100 shows worldwide. There will be stadium shows, arena shows and also several club shows. Indeed a 40th anniversary party for Stones fans all over the world.

Available soon for the first time on CD is MICHAEL NESMITH's 1967 album 'Wichita Train Whistle Sings'. Videoranch says: "Nez recorded it in 1967. It came out in 1968 on Dot Records, and then was reissued on the Pacific Arts Record label in the early 70's. After that, Nez decided he didn't want to put it out again and the album was shelved. After years of Videoranch receiving emails from people asking us to put it out on CD, we got permission from Nez to make a small amount of them"

A massive remastering campaign devoted to GOLDEN EARRING and stretching to 19 remastered albums (17 singles and 2 doubles) is underway.

In recognition of ROY WOOD’s 2001 Ivor Novello award for Outstanding Collection of Songs, EMI will release a celebratory CD acknowledging the wealth of material he wrote, performed and recorded for them as a member of The Move, ELO, Wizzard, and solo artist. The release is scheduled to contain previously unreleased songs and tracks never before available on CD.

At last - the definitive remastered edition of one of THE MOVE’s finest albums, Message From The Country. EMI’s release is scheduled for June 2002 and promises plenty of exclusives!

Здорово Message From the Country у меня есть на виниле и я его до сих пор регулярно слушаю. Очень разнообразный, мелодичный рок. Лучше, чем последующие труды Лина в составе Электик Лайт. Очевидно, благодаря присутствию другой души Move - Вуда.

Genesis решили пойти по проторенной Grateful Dead, King Crimson и Doors дорожке: перекопали свои архивы с целью начать в ближайшем будущем серии limited-edition концертников. Детали ожидаются в ближайшие месяцы.
P.S. Интересно - у Пола когда-нибудь до подобного проекта руки дойдут?

Cilla honoured with lifetime award

TV star Cilla Black has received a Lifetime Achievement award to mark more than 40 years in the world of showbusiness.
The singer, presenter and entertainer, was presented with the prestigious honour at a star-studded ceremony at London's Park Lane Hilton hotel. The event - Women In Film and Television awards - recognises the achievements of outstanding individuals both behind and in front of the camera.
The Liverpool-born former pop star was receiving the Working Title Films Lifetime Achievements award in recognition of her extensive career in entertainment.
Jane Cussons, chief executive of the awards organisation, said: "The longevity and diversity of Cilla's career is what makes her so unique. From her early days as a singing sensation to becoming the undisputed First Lady of television, Cilla has remained a true British icon and we are delighted to be honouring her for this award."
Last month the 61-year-old celebrity revealed that after gentle persuasion from her close friend Sir Cliff Richard she is going back to her roots and starring in a new show after a year-long break. Millions of viewers were stunned when the veteran presenter announced she was leaving Blind Date on live television last year after 18 years fronting the programme.
Cilla will be appearing in a two-hour live studio based Christmas Special on cable and satellite channel "Livingtv" which will echo the original Surprise Surprise show where she made her name.
Also being honoured at the ceremony were Judy Finnigan, one half of the husband and wife television presenting duo Richard and Judy, and comedienne actress and writer Caroline Aherne.

Phelps "Catfish" Collins, guitarist with Parliament/Funkadelic as well as James Brown and brother of Bootsy Collins, died Friday (August 6) of cancer in Cincinnati at the age of 66. His death follows that of Funkadelic guitarist Gary Shider, who died June 16.

Richard Hayward, drummer and founding member of Los Angeles band, Little Feat, died Thursday (August 12) from complications of liver cancer. He was 64. Richard and Lowell George had played together in the Factory before creating Little Feat with Bill Payne and Roy Estrada in 1969. The group broke up in 1979 shortly before Lowell died from an accidental overdose. Richard re-formed the band in 1987 and kept playing in it until health problems forced his retirement last year. The group never had a single appear on the American charts but six of their albums made the top 40.

According to his Facebook page, Leslie West of the group Mountain "is at home recovering from a recent stay at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey to treat blood clots, (DVT) and a pseudo aneurism in his leg." He has been forced to postpone two concerts in the next month.
