A West End musical featuring a string of Beatles classics has been named "turkey" of the year by theatregoers.
All You Need Is Love, which opened at the Queens Theatre last summer, featured numerous Lennon and McCartney tunes, but public indifference led to its early closure.
Now a poll of 8,000 theatre fans by whatsonstage.com has found the production was the least admired show of 2001.
All You Need Is Love was based on a young couple's love affair during the Beatles' heyday, but the show suffered from poor reviews and closed after three months, despite earlier extending its run.
The top actor was Alan Rickman for his role in a revival of Noel Coward's Private Lives. He drew a two-thirds of the votes in his category.
The production also landed the best director prize for Howard Davies.
Best actress was Victoria Hamilton for her performance in A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg. The play was also named best play revival.
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof hooked both the best supporting actor and actress titles for Ned Beatty and Gemma Jones.
Terri Paddock, director of whatsonstage.com, said: "The people who actually pay to see all of London's wonderful stage productions have very strong opinions."
